Thanks for visiting!

One of the applications that I personally use most on my BlackBerry is iSkoot. iSkoot is a Skype client for the BlackBerry and allows you to make calls to Skype users on the computer, inexpensive international calls and instant messaging on your phone.

Here is what it looks like:

How does it work?

Calling other Skype user

If you want to call other Skype user all you have to do is select the person and click call. iSkoot then calls a local number and redirects your call to the computer of the other person. Calling this person is free, you only have to pay the costs associated with calling the iSkoot phone number.

Calling international phone numbers

If you want to call somebody that is not living in your country you probably have to pay pretty high rates per minute for the call. With iSkoot you can just enter the international number you would like to call and it will call a local number in your country and redirect you to the mobile phone or landline in whichever country you wish to call. Nevertheless you need to pay an inexpensive rate to Skype via SkypeOut. You can buy SkypeOut credit easily with a Skype client on your pc.

Instant messaging

If you just want to chat with other people on Skype this is also possible and doesn’t cost anything expect the costs associated with your carriers data plan.

How does it work for me?

I am on a plan where each call costs only 50 cents for each hour. So whenever I want to talk with friends or family abroad, I just call them with iSkoot directly on their PC for 50 cents or landline which is 50 cents per hour plus 2 cent for each minute. Still nothing compared to making an international phone call.

I highly recommend the software, especially since you can download it for free from iSkoot.

Do you want to listen to music on your mobile phone but you don’t want to spend the time to go music to mobile phone then flight times the might be exactly what you have been looking for.

With FlyCast it is now possible to listen to music on your mobile device just like you to listen to music on the radio.  Just install the application on your mobile device, a subject on your favorite sure and enjoy music streamed to your Apple iPhone and iPod touch, and BlackBerry Bold, Storm, and Curve.

FlyCast delivers music, talk, weather, and traffic to portable devices. Introduced in January 2008, the network has grown very rapidly from 80 channels to well over 1000 in a nine month period, and more channels are added weekly.

By offering our listeners the best of the content available on the web as well as traditional terrestrial radio, FlyCast provides a listener experience that offers far more choices than any previous broadcast medium. FlyCast’s StreamSlip technology further improves the experience by adding desirable time shifting features. Unlike Satellite Radio, FlyCast does not require a special receiver hardware, it works with the smartphone that users already carry with them wherever they go.
